The Importance of Love and Connection

The Importance of Love and Connection
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be most appropriate to speak about Love and Connection; which is one of the 6 fundamental human needs according to Human Needs Psychology and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

We all need love and connection with others, whether they are family, friends or acquaintances in order to be balanced mentally. It’s a matter of survival. Infants who are not held and touched, will die.  Love and connection are ingrained in our DNA and we require it in order to develop into healthy, happy humans .

The Secret of Winning

The Secret of Winning

In the last month, I have won over $450 worth of prizes. I won two pay-per-view events from the American Hypnosis Association and I won the iPod Touch last weekend from the Bank of North Georgia at the Norcross arts festival.

Lately I have been on a roll and I think it’s all due to my positive mental attitude. It has absolutely nothing to do with luck, it’s all attitude. Since I have won all of this recently, and I always try to remain aware of my thoughts and feelings, I realized what I was thinking when I won – and as such, how I won. Try this mental state out for yourself and see if you start winning at everything you do as well.

Do You Have Goals or Hobbies?

Goals and Hobbies
I overheard a guy in the checkout line behind me at Publix saying that he “wishes he could make more money.” His wife or girlfriend said, “yeah, me too!” Then he said the words, “yeah, that would be nice” which roughly translates into I won’t get any more money.

Most people go through life with hobbies. Very few have actual goals.

You already know what the difference is between goals and hobbies. I don’t have to explain that to you. What I do think I should point out is that many, many people treat their lives and the things they want out of them as hobbies. That’s right, they dabble. Hobbies are something you do for fun or to bide your time and keep your mind occupied. Hobbies don’t have a deadline. There is no pressure with a hobby.

Confident Public Speaking
If you need to get over your fear and speak in public, then you’re going to need to know these three essential steps.

In the next few paragraphs, I am going to show you the essential steps you must take to overcome your fear of public speaking and it all centers around hypnosis. Change: As Slow As Evolution, As Fast As Revolution!

I ate at Jason’s Deli for lunch today. They changed the menu.

You can imagine a lunch crowd line of people looking at the menu thinking “where did they put the hoagies? … or the panninis even!” The lady next to me said, “I know what I want, I just don’t know what it’s named!” I felt the same way. I was in a hurry, and felt rushed because of the 20 people breathing down my neck to order and I was trying to skim the menu to find something that jumped out at me instead of trying to read it.

I felt that everyone was more than a little confused, bewildered, and peeved by the experience of instantaneous forced change we were enduring.

Hypnosis – inside out

Hypnosis is a powerful tool to reprogram the subconscious mind for positive, beneficial change. Hypnosis works by inserting suggestions into the subconscious mind that the subconscious uses to reform beliefs. Once these beliefs have been changed, or revised, new behaviors start to appear in the individual.

These changes are very profound for the client as the conscious mind of the individual tries to find reasons why the changes are taking place so easily. In fact, we are very complex beings and we are creating our lives with much more than our conscious mind. In fact, all of our behaviors, our personality and most of our thoughts come directly from the subconscious mind. Freud knew this. Jung knew this. In fact, this is the original basis of the science of psychology. [Read more...]

Weight Loss Hypnosis – Does it work?

Weight Loss Hypnosis
The beauty about hypnosis for self-help concerns is it works on the subconscious mind.  This means that it’s subtle at first, but then devastatingly effective. Hypnosis is like a steam train. It starts very slowly at first, building up speed. Then, once it’s going, it cannot be easily stopped. In fact, it takes 10 times longer to stop it than it did to get it started.

30% of the population will undergo a hypnosis session and instantly stop smoking or instantly eat right and exercise. The remaining 70% will continue with their habits for a couple of days or a week, but then those habits are no longer, for some reason, interesting to them anymore.

Anxiety can be overcome

People who suffer from anxiety feel like they are stuck in an endless nightmare from which they can’t extract themselves.

I know, I have been there. I had anxiety and panic attacks for years before I knew what they were. Once I realized that I wasn’t dying and it was anxiety, I searched for the clues to ending it once and for all. That search led me to hypnosis. Today, I enjoy nothing more than showing people how to overcome anxiety and rid themselves of the panic attacks so they can get back to living a healthy, balanced life.

Anxiety and panic seem odd to people who have never experienced this. The best way I can describe it is: TERRIFYING!!!

What to do when a loved one is having a panic attack

What to do when a partner has a panic attackThere were many times I felt helpless during Michael’s panic attacks. I did not know what to do or say or how to convince him that he was not going to have a heart attack and die.

I felt sad, angry, frustrated and helpless. I wanted to help him but did not know how to.

I researched online, I read books, I watched programs regarding panic and anxiety, I started watching what he was eating and how the food made him feel.

These are the things I found helped Michael the most during a panic attack and these are the methods that every friend, partner or spouse of a panic sufferer should know:

My Anxiety and Panic Story

Atlanta Hypnotherapist - Michael MillerI struggled with anxiety and panic attacks for 12 years. Of course, like most people with anxiety, I didn’t know what it was for a long time. I thought I was dying, or having a heart attack, had a disease or cancer. I never felt right and often felt fatigued. Life was a walking nightmare and I didn’t understand what was happening to me.

I thought I was happy. I love to laugh and experience life to the fullest. I always steer away from negative people, negative experiences (like horror films) and stressful environments. So how was it that I would end up with anxiety and panic attacks?

It’s a good question. The answer has to do with a volitile combination of perfectionism, guilt and regret about the past and an uncertain feeling about the future combined with negative, critical, self-talk. These are the causes of anxiety and panic attacks even if you are a happy go lucky person who focuses on the good things in life. [Read more...]
