Smoking seems like a difficult habit to break because all of the mainstream information on how to quit is wrong! Doctors have nicotine therapy in several forms, medications that deposit plastic on your nicotine receptors (sure, just the nicotine receptors) and a popular new book says quitting requires 2 things: 1) Admit you are never going to smoke again. 2) Be happy about it!

I smoked for 17 years. You know what that type of logic would have done to me? Yes, that’s right! Made me extremely irritated! It infuriates me now and I haven’t smoked for 7 years.

The simple fact is, cigarettes are a habit. The tobacco companies have spent millions and millions of dollars with psychologists breaking down every aspect of their target smokers day in order to weave the habit into their lives and ingrain it there. Some tobacco companies have as many as 30 PhD’s on staff! All of them thinking about you all day, thinking “How can we make you smoke more?”

As a result, the habit gets weaved into all of your daily activities. It even becomes a way to reduce stress and relax. This is why scientists don’t understand how a stimulant like nicotine can make people relax. Smokers know though! They have lived it! It’s the mind/body connection. Its this mind/body connection that hypnosis uses to help you break the habit.

I smoked for 17 years. I tried to quit 8 times before I actually quit smoking. I finally quit smoking with hypnosis – I hypnotized myself. I developed a special plan specifically for me that worked so well, I tried it with my wife…and she quit smoking too! We both have been non-smokers for 7 years. Best of all, it was actually quite easy! Hypnosis itself works wonders with helping people stop smoking, but I’ve developed a couple special mind “tools” that work wonders and not only make quitting smoking easy, they help you build confidence in yourself.

Each second, minute and hour that goes by that you have not smoked builds upon itself a feeling of satisfaction and pride in your accomplishment.

12% of your mind is conscious, 88% of your mind is subconscious. Habits are ingrained in your subconscious mind. If you weighed 120 pounds, do you think you could wrestle someone who weighed 880 pounds? That’s what you are trying to do when you try to convince yourself consciously to just stop smoking! The odds aren’t in your favor!

Similarly, medical doctors give you nicotine for the addiction, or pills full of plastic for your receptors so you feel nauseous all the time, or anti-depressant drugs like wellbutrin that make everything seem blah. Not good, not bad, just blah.

Tell me smokers, when you need to take a break from work to just relax for a minute, do you need nicotine? How about to feel nauseous? Would that help? What about a pill that takes away all of your joy?

You see, as someone who smoked cigarettes for 17 years, I know that smoking isn’t an addiction – its a habit! You have to change the habit!

I know first hand how to stop smoking and I know the tricks our mind plays on us, that’s why hypnosis is so effective!

I used the patches while I was at work, then took them off when I went out for a smoke. I used the inhaler on planes and at work. It became a way for me to smoke while I was on the job. It didn’t help me stop smoking. It enhanced my smoking!

I did learn from the patch and the inhaler that I didn’t like nicotine. They always made me feel nauseous and sick. I learned just how to dose myself so that I didn’t feel sick, but they were not ever going to help me stop smoking.

I know how to help you stop smoking, but you have to want it. You can’t take a let’s see attitude. If you want to quit, you have a 95% chance of quitting smoking with hypnosis. If you are just doing it because your doctor or your spouse wants you to, but you aren’t committed, your chance of quitting is 10%. (But hey, I still get 10%)

You see, you smoke because your subconscious mind wants you to, because it wants to make you happy and feel good. This may sound contradictory, but the subconscious doesn’t have logic. It doesn’t rationalize that smoking is bad for you and you shouldn’t do it. It only knows that you relax and feel better when you smoke. It sees smoking as beneficial. Smoking is a tool the subconscious mind can use to relax you, calm you down, and make you feel good.

There is an underlying reason why you smoke. Once we get to it and solve the reason, you will stop smoking easily and effortlessly. No withdrawal symptoms, and no weight gain.

Many people are worried about gaining weight when they stop smoking. I include this in the sessions. There is no reason you should gain weight other than you are replacing a habit for a habit. If you replace the smoking habit for a healthy habit, that does not involve eating, you won’t gain weight. Some people replace smoking with walking and end up losing weight when they quit smoking.

Finally, the number of sessions depends upon you and your smoking habit. I have tools and techniques that can help you quit immediately but I want to make sure you are prepared to quit and committed to quit before I give them to you.

Some people are able to stop smoking in 1 session. Those who can quit in one session encompass roughly 30% of the smoking population. The remaining 70% need 3 – 5 sessions. I prefer using
3 – 5 sessions because it works! Even if you will quit in one session, 3 – 5 sessions give you the reinforcement you need to easily make the decision to stop smoking a reality.

If you have smoked for 10 years, you have reinforced the habit 73,000 times. Looking at it realistically, ending the smoking habit may take more than 60 – 90 minutes. More important than the length and number of sessions is a change of patterns of behavior and the reinforcement of positive behavior. This prevents a relapse, gives you the tools you will need to reduce your stress in the future and ensures you have positive habits to replace the old habits with, and ensures you stop smoking.
